So it’s been awhile!
I’ve been trying to start new artwork, but none of the pieces have reached a finished state which is unfortunate. All the drawings have been on film for the purpose of silkscreen printing. My goal for March is to have prints created for the Southern Graphics Council’s open portfolio.
This is my new studio! It’s not as spacious as my graduate studio, but it’s a working space! This is where majority of business gets done.
“Adversary” mixed media (silkscreen, collage, color pencil, and water color)
My camera didn’t capture the brightness or sharpness of the print. Shame.
“Snow Queen” photoshop (at this point)
The first is a collage of old, rejected prints from the thesis series and then more photoshop re-imaging of past drawings. I just want to have new work at this point. This is starting to come close to what I’m hoping to attempt for the new work. Some of my other ideas I want to get back into involve collage, but in due time.
What else absorbs my day? Reworking my resumé, postcards, and business cards for future networking. Always fun. Since I’m not a designer, it always takes longer than I’d like to admit. Thankfully friends give me feedback so the designs don’t look shabby once they’re finished.
The usual minimal design that I apply to the website and business cards, plus…
a colorful version. Something new!
I designed postcards, but holy-moly, it’s expensive to order! Saving these designs for a rainy day. I’m going to re-use my MFA thesis postcards by covering up the exhibition information. If it doesn’t look tacky, I might show the end result.
